What I Wore....for an evening in NYC.

Thursday, I went out with my "city exploration buddy" to see How The Grinch Stole Christmas! The Musical and for drinks and appetizers at the 40/40 Club (courtesy of Living Social!).  I wanted to wear my new leather leggings so I paired them with a long grey sweater and leopard wedges.  I figured black and gold accessories would be the perfect accent to the muted color combination.

Rings: House of Harlow 1960 (left) and Forever 21 (right). I purchased both sets of the Forever 21 rings just so I could mix and match the metal colors.
Bag: Coach from my Grandmother's closet :-)

I'm almost sure I got these leopard wedge booties from Go Jane. They are some of my favorites because they go with so much! You can find some similar ones here.

And here I am on the train adding my pop of color: red lipstick!

My New Boyfriend.....Watch

I guess my post about watches brought me good luck as I just received my Michael Kors watch that I earned at work.  It's the MK Mercer watch and I'm in love! Its over sized but fits my wrist perfectly and the rose gold numbers add a little pizazz to the silver.  I can't wait to wear it!

Fab 5: Watches Under $50

I rarely talk about watches, but I definitely love them. So I figured I'd feature a few that I've come across that I think are great!  (Maybe some of these can be stocking stuffers!)

For Something Different

This two-face watch is perfect for someone who likes to be understated yet different.  I've seen this watch in person and the robin's egg blue is great!  Find it at Nordstrom for only $18.00.

For the Jewelry Lover
The metal band on this Casio watch makes it great for combining with your favorite bangles and bracelets.

For the Classic Lady Who Stays on Top of the Trends

Part boyfriend watch, part wear to work.  Find this modern two-tone stunner at Macy's.

For the Young at Heart

Hello Kitty is here to stay. For those of you who love her but aren't really into having a pink cat on display all the time this tortoise shell watch is perfect. Find it at Kohl's.

For the Secretly Sporty
This RumbaTime Jane watch is a great feminine twist on a sports watch.

Which one is your favorite?

A Minaudière Moment

Although, I don't officially own a minaudière (I've borrowed a few though) I definitely love them.  Once reserved for formal and cocktail events, they can be worn as statement bags any time of day or night. Since I've been seeing them a lot more lately I figured I'd share a few of my favorites and where to find them.

I love the round shape and half and half styling of this one from Nine West  $29.99

The tweed on this bag gives it a clever twist. Find it at Nordstrom $58

The cobalt blue on this Zappos ($88) clutch gives you a new neutral to play with.

Leave it up to Forever 21 ($21.80) to give us this fun heart shape.

Try your minaudière with you favorite jeans, tee and leather jacket to add some edge or keep it classic with a dress.

Website Highlight: Emily Elizabeth Jewelry

As I was flipping through some accessories on FabSugar.com I came across some adorable bee earrings.  This led me to the Emily Elizabeth Jewelry site.  The gold plated jewelry ranges from quirky to practical yet everything is so ladylike.  Here are some of my favorites.

Since my birthday is St. Patrick's Day I'm always a sucker for shamrocks and four-leaf clovers.
Which is why I'm into this $42 lariat.

This super cute hugs and kisses ring is on sale now for $20.

The bee earrings are $30, but I ended up liking this $65 bee bangle even more!

The site is having a 25% off of regular priced items sale right now so this would be a great time to head on over and browse!

Finally! A shoe named after me!

Well, not really, but I found these "Britt" booties in BCBG and instantly fell in love. The mixed snakeskin print and chain detail made me swoon. They are on sale right now in BCBG stores.

Awesome Nails

My coworker painted this festive design on her own nails, so I thought I'd share. Snowflakes and Santa's jacket...love! (Her right hand ring is great too!)

Today I Love....

this ring from Forever 21 so much I bought it and put it on right away.  The mixed metal and the floating ball illusion really won me over.  The $5.80 price tag was the icing on the cake.  Check your nearest Forever 21 for it!  (It was no longer available online)

Booze and Beauty

So this isn't really a post about accessories...but I'm sure all of my readers will appreciate it.  In my opinion, this is one of the best gifts EVER!  A make-up kit that includes wine = love.  Get it for $30 from Clos du Bois.

Turban Time!

About a month ago, I found a turban-style hat at Target that I absolutely loved.  On sale for $10.39, it was a steal and I deemed it as my new winter hat. Since it really hasn't been that cold, Sunday was my first time wearing it to run some errands and everyone loved it!  I've been back to Target and Target.com to find it in other colors with no success but here are a few other places you can grab one.

City Love

Personalized jewelry is a big trend, so why not personalize in a different way and represent your hometown (or current town)!

A little birdie sent me this LivingSocial deal for a NY Metro Cuff which instantly inspired this post! :-)
You can find this right now for $28 on livingsocial.com.

These city necklaces from Aminimal's Urban Gridded Collection were also featured on LivingSocial, but their home website has tons of cities. You can get earrings here too.
(This one is of Washington, DC)

One of my favorite websites right now, Etsy.com, has plenty of options for city jewelry but here are two of my picks.

You can get any city map made into a personalized ring at Daisy Mae Designs Shop

I love the shadowed skyline look of these necklaces from the Plastique Esty shop.

The best thing about all of this jewelry is that it's under $50 so shop away!

Accessories Make An Easy Transition

My job's holiday party was last night.  Since I had to work during the day and wouldn't be able to go home and change before the party I needed to make my day-to-night transition quick and easy.  I accomplished this by simply changing my accessories.  At work, I put a long cardigan over my dress and wore some fun tribal pieces.  For the party I added a little bit of color with red suede booties and the colorful jewelry I featured in What I Wore....To A Wedding. To top it off I opted for a darker lip color and a little bit of eyeshadow.  In under ten minutes I was party ready!

What's Your Sign?

I think this Rebecca Minkoff zodiac necklace is so cute! On a 16" chain, its delicate enough to wear with a few other necklaces but strong enough to stand on its own.  With the holidays approaching, this necklace would make a great gift for your friends!

(Tip: Try it with another nameplate style necklace on a longer chain)

Closet Feature

$5. That's how much I paid for this fabulous multicolor snakeskin clutch! I love that you can wear it as a crossbody, wristlet or a clutch leaving it open for a ton of outfit possibilities. It serves as a great pop of color for all black or the perfect way to put the finishing touch on a color blocked ensemble.

What I Wore: Pearls and Kisses

I received so many compliments on my accessories today so I figured I'd share! This morning when I got dressed I knew I wanted to wear my black, gold and pearl multi-strand necklace combined with the necklace I took from my grandmother's jewelry box. But then I decided to take the girlie look up a notch and add this pink lip ring that I got from H&M and top it off with a bright lip of my own!

Your cell phone is definitely part of your accessory wardrobe, so why not decorate it as such?
Here are a few of my favorites of the moment and where to get them.

I love the clean look of this grey and white snake print case from J. Crew. Grab it while its on sale!

A Date with Charlie

I always look forward to going home to the DC/Maryland area. There's always something exciting (mainly time family and friends) there for me. But this time I was also looking forward to visiting Charming Charlie, an accessories megastore, since there isn't one in my immediate area. So I set a date with my wonderful girlfriend and we went out to Annapolis Mall.

To say that I was overwhelmed was an understatement. All I could say was "oh...oh". I ended up having to just take a walk around the store and soak it all in before I could even start shopping. It's huge, everything is organized by color and style and they have every accessory you could dream of and then some.

Of course, there were plenty of things I loved but here's what I walked away with. I didn't want to get much since I'm getting ready to do an accessory overhaul at home (stay tuned for more on that). But I'm tickled with what I did get.

This "Live, Love, Laugh" ring reminds me of the name rings of the 80's and who doesn't appreciate a constant reminder to do these three things! $7.97

I absolutely LOVE this ring! It's so perfect for me. It was marked down to $5 from $9.97 and the only one we saw in the store, so it was definitely meant to be!

If you can get to one, I strongly encourage you to go to Charming Charlie. You'll definitely walk away with something you love!

Shop the Trend: Fringe Benefits

Fringe Benefits

I think fringe gets a bad rap sometimes (think Cowboy/Western Movie) but it really is a great way to add movement and dimension to your outfit.  I picked a few items to show you that fringe doesn't have to be limited to suede jackets and cowboy boots.  Just be sure to limit your fringe to one item at a time!

Happy Halloween!

Since my Internet is out I've been doing a lot of "mobile browsing" and I came across these Jeffery Campbell Drucilla Pony Heels. They remind me of a sassy devil costume yet I would certainly wear them on any day! They are on sale at Urban Outfitters right now for $169.99.

Fun In the Sun

I'm Back!!!! I had a wonderful vacation...however Hurricane Sandy has arrived and its looking kind of gloomy outside. With that being said, I thought I'd feature some fun sunglasses to brighten up the day!
These heart-shaped shades from nordstrom.com feature a fun, stained glass print.
A perfect way to pep up your casual outfit or flirty dress.

The metal frame really takes these cat eye sunglasses up a notch.  Find them at topshop.com

I love the clear frame on these Michael Kors Sunglasses.
What makes them even better is that they are on sale right now!

Add an instant pop of color with these round framed Quay shades.  I've noticed that these are a favorite of Gwen Stefani as she's been spotted in them often. However, they are an accessible luxury at $40.

And finally, my favorites!  These angular, leopard print shades give off a cool 40's vibe.
Find them at asos.com

If you're in the storm be safe. But as always, happy (online) shopping!
