I think fringe gets a bad rap sometimes (think Cowboy/Western Movie) but it really is a great way to add movement and dimension to your outfit. I picked a few items to show you that fringe doesn't have to be limited to suede jackets and cowboy boots. Just be sure to limit your fringe to one item at a time!
To me, accessories are the most important part of an outfit. Join me as I show you how to make the most (and have the most fun) out of accessorizing!

Happy Halloween!
Since my Internet is out I've been doing a lot of "mobile browsing" and I came across these Jeffery Campbell Drucilla Pony Heels. They remind me of a sassy devil costume yet I would certainly wear them on any day! They are on sale at Urban Outfitters right now for $169.99.

Fun In the Sun
I'm Back!!!! I had a wonderful vacation...however Hurricane Sandy has arrived and its looking kind of gloomy outside. With that being said, I thought I'd feature some fun sunglasses to brighten up the day!
These heart-shaped shades from nordstrom.com feature a fun, stained glass print.
A perfect way to pep up your casual outfit or flirty dress.
The metal frame really takes these cat eye sunglasses up a notch. Find them at topshop.com
I love the clear frame on these Michael Kors Sunglasses.
What makes them even better is that they are on sale right now!
Add an instant pop of color with these round framed Quay shades. I've noticed that these are a favorite of Gwen Stefani as she's been spotted in them often. However, they are an accessible luxury at $40.
And finally, my favorites! These angular, leopard print shades give off a cool 40's vibe.
Find them at asos.com
If you're in the storm be safe. But as always, happy (online) shopping!

I'll Be Back....
Ok folks, I'm taking a little bit of time off but I'll be back soon.
Until then, stay fabulous and well accessorized!
I Love Lucite
There's something about clear jewelry that I adore. It can be worn with anything and it can add an instant edge to your ensemble. Yesterday, I wore this ring and bracelet I bought at H&M.
As I looked online for other lucite pieces I saw that Etsy.com has tons of items for reasonable prices (as lucite can be expensive). Some of my favorites included this cuff, necklace and earrings.

I Hate Packing...
I'm leaving for vacation soon and packing is always such a daunting task so I decided to have a little fun with it and share how I pack my jewelry. Since this is a more casual trip I didn't have to pack that much jewelry so I went with what I think is the easiest way to cover all of my bases.
First I started with hoops, in both silver and gold. In my first Fab 5 post I said that hoops are extremely versatile so these must go in the suitcase. Next, I packed full sets of bangles in silver and gold. This way you can mix them up and wear as many or as little as you would like.
After my basic pieces are taken care of, I add earrings that are a little more fun and rings. I always make sure that I add a pair of earrings with a little bit of color like the turquoise disks. As far as rings go I stick with a plain ring in each metal color and add some fun rings and pops of color.
As if that weren't enough, I like to throw a couple of cuffs in there!
Finally, I think the easiest way to pack everything up is to separate the jewelry in pouches by type. This way you aren't fumbling through a big bag of jewelry. See, those jewelry pouches you get when you shop do come in handy!
And don't forget your sunglasses!

Neighborhood Watch: Chelsea in New York City
Yesterday, I decided to take advantage of my day off and the beautiful weather to head into New York with a friend of mine and check out a few consignment shops and a flea market.
Our first stop was Buffalo Exchange in Chelsea (114 W. 26th Street). This is usually one of my favorite consignment style shops because a lot of the items are pretty contemporary. I came across a bag that I just couldn't stop carrying around the store and a serious statement necklace.
Our first stop was Buffalo Exchange in Chelsea (114 W. 26th Street). This is usually one of my favorite consignment style shops because a lot of the items are pretty contemporary. I came across a bag that I just couldn't stop carrying around the store and a serious statement necklace.
This structured handbag was only $20 and the color is a great neutral.
The orange in this $15 necklace give it a modern vibe yet it is still a piece that can be worn for years to come.
The next stop was West 25th Street Market. We got there close to closing time (not realizing that they would close at 5pm on Sunday) but most of the vendors were still set up and selling.
There were tables and tables of jewelry! A lot of the jewelry reminded me of some of the things I've taken from my grandmother's jewelry box.
I really loved this $15 leather crossbody bag with the embossed zebra print!
Finally, we crossed over to the Flatiron neighborhood to take a look at what was new in Joe Fresh (a stylish and affordable Canadian import). I came across these booties that just made me smile. They're made from calf hair and priced at $79.
There's plenty more to explore and see in other neighborhoods so stay tuned!

What I Wore....to a Wedding
Yesterday, I went to a beautiful wedding and wore a long cobalt blue dress and red suede sandals. But believe it or not (most likely, not) I didn't have any jewelry to go with this ensemble!! I felt like everything I owned already was not "fancy" enough or didn't compliment the style of the dress. Since I didn't have much time and didn't want to spend a lot of money, I stopped in Forever 21 and here's what I found.
I found these earrings and bangles for a total of $18.83. Both of which I'll definitely wear again.
The red and the blue matched the outfit perfectly!
I added my own ring and some extra bangles to complete the look.
And here I am at the wedding! I also included a picture of the shoes, since my photographer never got them in the picture. :-)

Lady Liberty
Today I did something I've been wanting to do for quite some time: visit the Statue of Liberty! Of course, I had to swing by the gift shop. I came across these cute little earrings and thought I would post them for fun!

Alternate Accessories: Wear a Tie!
This past weekend, my dear girlfriends came to visit me for a night on the town in New York. One of my friends wore a tie as her accessory and it looked fantastic! It just goes to show that you don't have to stick with conventional jewelry to wear great accessories!

Accessorize for a Good Cause
I've been seeing plenty of items recognizing October as Breast Cancer Awareness Month and I thought this Betsey Johnson ring was too cute so I had to post it. I love the little kiss at the tip of the ribbon! What's even better is that a portion of the proceeds go to Fashion Targets Breast Cancer. Buy yours and contribute to the cause at amazon.com
Today I Love...
This Bar III ring I found at Macy's. I love that the feather flows down your hand instead of the typical finger covering ring. It comes in both gold and silver. Click here to grab one!

Fab 5: Scarves
Scarves are not just for bundling up in the winter. Here are my five best (and easiest) ways to wear scarves.
Silk Scarf: Wear a silk scarf around your neck with a blazer for a classic, polished look.
Infinity Scarf: The best thing about infinity scarves is that they are so easy to wear, but you can also wear them different ways. (I love this idea of wearing one as a shrug!)
Headband Scarf: Perfect for, but not limited to, bad hair days! And just like the infinity scarf there are endless ways to wear this.
Pocket Square: Borrow this look from the boys for a cool addition to your ensemble.
Handbag Scarf: In the event that you don't want to or can't incorporate a scarf into your actual outfit, tie one around your purse for a pop.

Traveling Jewelry
I always find great jewelry when I travel. But what's even better is when other people travel and bring jewelry back for me! These earrings came from a good friend who had the wonderful opportunity to travel to Kenya and my significant other brought this bracelet back from the Dominican Republic. Although I've owned both of them for a while and have worn both of them separately, yesterday I realized that they matched and decided to wear them together to liven up my black work attire. I'm traveling again soon and can't wait to see what I find for myself!

Closet Feature: My new necklace
I think it's safe to say that I'm addicted to statement necklaces. So when I saw this one by Ali Khan in Macy's for $10 I definitely had to grab it. I can't wait to wear it with a plain dress or with a white blouse. You can get it online, although it will definitely be cheaper in the store.
