The 28-day Accessory Challenge
Starting today, it is my goal to wear at least one different accessory everyday throughout the month of February. Although I'm loaded with accessories I definitely have my favorites that I lean on. So this will let you all get a glimpse of what's really in my collection and challenge me to get the most use out of my accessories. Follow me in my adventure and if you can, do it yourself!

What I Wore....to a Networking Event
My "City Exploration Buddy" and I ventured into Manhattan to an Urban Girl Squad women's networking event at Toshi's Penthouse. I must say it was great event and I met some great people that I'm looking forward to communicating with in the future. Here's what I wore and how I accessorized it!
I wore my Aqua oxblood leather sheath dress and H&M leopard blazer because I love any shade of red with leopard. I topped it off with my bib necklace which I purchased from Macy's, some bangles from a combination of H&M, a NY street vendor and my grandmother's jewelry box and my Ferragamo Doctor's Bag. Add my Lauren Ralph Lauren snakeskin pumps and I was ready to take on the evening!
Curb Appeal
Tonight I attended an Urban Girl Squad networking event and this necklace (worn by Rachel...hey Rachel!) made me stop in my tracks! I was even more thrilled to find out that she purchased it from Goodwill for $4.99. Way to go Rachel! Approved!

SAG Awards 2013: My Favorites
Awards season is still going strong with red carpet stunners. Here are some of my favorites for the night.
Overall Look: Actress Jaimie Alexander looks phenomenal in the Marc Bouwer gown. I'm surprised that I picked black as my favorite but I love the fit and the sexy look.
(I see your statement ring too Jamie! Yes!)
The Risk-Taker: I appreciate that Jane Krakowski didn't arrive in a dark gown. What I appreciate even more is that she went all the way by accessorizing her Kaufmanfranco dress
with a Judith Leiber clutch in a different color.
Best Accent: This black-and-white geometric print split takes Claire Danes's Givenchy dress from
basic black to fresh and new.
The "Pop of Color" Winner: A very cute and pregnant Busy Philipps also stepped out of the box and added color to her stunning Gabriela Cadena dress with a bright Judith Leiber clutch and
turquoise Irene Neuwirth necklace and ring.
Stay tuned for more favorites from Awards Season!

Black-and-White Out
Black-and-white is definitely a classic combo but its also one of the biggest trends for the Spring. Keep your accessories clean with smooth lines or have fun with polka dots. Either way this trend is one of the easiest to wear...when in doubt, throw it on with solid black or white. Even better, have a little fun mixing it with some color or a black and white pattern.

Winter Bright
Between Beyonce's tangerine polish and the fact that it's 20 degrees outside, I felt inspired to post about bright nail polish. During the winter months we tend to stick with our deep, cool colors (which I love). But sometimes its good to switch things up a little. So when you head out for your next mani think brights! Even if you don't want to commit to all 10 digits try a dark neutral with a bright accent nail. Here are a few colors to get you going.

Beyonce's Emeralds are Exquisite!
As I watched the Inaugural Festivities this morning I couldn't help but to take note of Beyonce's Emerald jewelry and tangerine/coral nail polish. You all know I'm a big fan of pops of color and this combo was perfect against her black Pucci dress! The earrings and ring are Lorraine Schwartz; I'm still waiting on an update of what color this polish is. But they both get two thumbs up from me!
Update: The polish color is "I'm With the Band" by NCLA . I'm sure this will be sold out so there is a gel version, Sephora has a Dior version, and L'Oreal has a more pocket-friendly version called Boozy Brunch.

Flashing Lights
That's what I thought of when I purchased these earrings from Aldo. The colorful combination and the vintage vibe immediately caught my eye and the sale price of $5.98 sealed the deal. I paired them with a neon yellow ring to pick up the brightest color in the earrings. You may be able to find them in stores but I found a few other similar items on the web.

Put a ring on it!
That's exactly what Kate Spade did with these gloves. I rarely keep my gloves on because I always have on a huge ring. With these gloves I can have the best of both worlds: warm hands and a well accessorized finger! What's even better is that they are touchscreen compatible.

My Favorite Accessories from the Golden Globes Red Carpet
I had plenty of favorites from last night's Golden Globe Awards but here are my top three accessory picks.
Jessica Alba's coral, mermaid-style Oscar de la Renta dress was perfection! I loved her Harry Winston necklace ($5.8 Million!!) because it accented the strapless neckline perfectly and the Roger Vivier Pochette Prisme Poodle clutch she carried added a little fun to the ensemble.
Amy Poehler went against the grain in a Stella McCartney tux. But the hint of jewels on her Charlotte Olympia shoes, Judith Leiber clutch and Chopard necklace gave this outfit the perfect hint of glam.
Kate Hudson was my favorite in an Alexander McQueen gown that had its own accessories built in with a jeweled neckline and belt. She kept with the black and gold theme with a Roger Vivier clutch. Classic glamour with a modern twist!

Today I Love...
My $2.99 earrings I got from "So Good", a crazy big accessory superstore in Soho, NY. And my new Diane von Furstenberg phone case I caught on sale at Bloomingdale's. The case doubles as a mirror!
Happy New Year!
I hope everyone had a safe and enjoyable New Year's celebration. I finally got a chance to wear my beloved pink calf hair shoes I showcased in my Closet Feature post a while back! I wore them with a cream, silver and black tweed t-shirt and leather skirt last night to dinner for New Year's Eve. I kept my jewelry simple with black and silver rings and a black bangle. I can't wait to wear these shoes again!
I also started the New Year off by purchasing my traditional "Shoe A Day" calendar.
Grab yours on Amazon. (They also have a "Handbag A Day' calendar that is equally as fabulous!)
